A slowly progressive neurological disorder classified as degenerative encephalopathy (DE) occurs in Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. The disease is characterized by frequent episodes of pronounced involuntary movements during sleep, cognitive impairment, anxiety, heightened sensitivity to sensory stimuli, and compulsive behaviors.
