RIG-I-like receptors (RLRs) are cytoplasmic RNA sensors that promote type I and type III interferon (IFN) production in response to RNA ligands of viral or endogenous origin. The RLR pathway is tightly regulated by dynamic post-translational modifications, including ubiquitination.
