<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is caused by a deficiency of the Survival Motor Neuron (SMN) protein. Mutations in SMN disrupt mRNA splicing and translation, leading to maladaptive changes in transcriptomes, proteomes, neuroinflammation, and metabolism, which drive motor neuron degeneration in SMA patients.
