<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> Furosemide, a widely prescribed diuretic for edema-forming states, inhibits sodium reabsorption in the thick ascending limb of the nephron. Tubular adaptation to diuretics has been observed, but the range of mechanisms along the nephron has not been fully explored.
