<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> Peroxisomes are ubiquitous membrane-enclosed organelles involved in lipid processing and reactive oxygen detoxification. Mutations in human peroxisome biogenesis genes ( Peroxin , PEX ) cause progressive developmental disabilities and, in severe cases, early death.
