<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> <h4>Background</h4> Loss-of-function mutations in diacylglycerol kinase epsilon ( DGKE ) cause a rare form of atypical hemolytic-uremic syndrome (aHUS) for which there is no treatment besides kidney transplantation.
