Backgroud Tumor heterogeneity complicates treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients, as it leads to different responses to therapies. Polyploid giant cancer cells (PGCCs) are a rare special subpopulation of heterogeneous cancer cells that are a source of solid tumor heterogeneity.
