Two crystal forms of the hypoxanthine phosphoribosyltransferase from Trypanosoma cruzi were grown and characterized. Proteolytic modification at the C-terminus of the recombinant enzyme yielded monoclinic crystals that diffract X-rays to higher resolution than the original, trigonal crystal form.
