Staurosporine is a potent inhibitor of protein kinase C. To identify the genes that functionally interact with the Pkc1 pathway of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, we screened for the genes that cause induced staurosporine sensitivity when overexpressed from a galactose-inducible promoter.
