Inhibitors of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3 kinase)-FKBP-rapamycin-associated protein (FRAP) pathway, such as rapamycin and wortmannin, induce dephosphorylation and activation of the suppressor of cap-dependent translation, 4E-BP1.
