The unicellular flagellate Euglena gracilis was used in order to assess the inhibition of N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine (MNNG) and N-methyl-N-nitrosourea (MNU) mutagenicities, which induce white mutants due to the irreversible loss of chloroplasts.
