Genetic and molecular analyses have been undertaken for four respiratory deficient mutants (mit-). The four mutations affect the C-terminal region of apocytochrome b. The frameshift (L263STOP) and non-sense (Q338STOP) mutations give rise to a truncated apocytochrome b.
