The cRNA for Torpedo californica Na+/K(+)-ATPase beta-subunit (cRNA beta) was injected into Xenopus oocytes alone or with the cRNA for the Na+/K(+)-ATPase alpha-subunit (cRNA alpha). When cRNA beta was injected alone, the amount of the beta-subunit that accumulated in oocytes increased with increasing amounts of injected cRNA beta.
