To investigate the intracellular transport mechanisms of lysosomal cathepsin D in yeast cells, we produced cathepsin D in Saccharomyces cerevisiae by placing the coding region under the control of the promoter of the yeast glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) gene.
