Tagging proteins with the green fluorescent protein (GFP) from Aequorea victoria is a good means of analyzing protein localization in living cells. Nevertheless, GFP and a chimeric protein, GFP-nucleoplasmin, expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae were less fluorescent at high culture temperatures.
