T cell receptor (TCR) delta gene rearrangements in intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL) were studied in athymic radiation chimeras using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and sequence analysis of DNAs spanning the variable (V), diversity (D), and junctional (J) genes.
