Melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) is a cyclic peptide found expressed almost exclusively in the hypothalamus while MCH-containing fibers project throughout the brain of many vertebrates including man. In fishes, MCH induces melanin concentration within the melanophores and may inhibit ACTH secretion.
