We believe our data may speak to the issue of sexual dimorphism with respect to MI. Most studies have concentrated on men with this disease. In a recent study, Lindpaintner et al10 could find no relationship between the D/D genotype and AMI in subjects of the Physicians Health Study. However, this study consisted entirely of men.
