To study the relationship between the transient elevation of protease activity and hypomutability observed in hypermutable human RSa cells pretreated with human interferon (HuIFN)-alpha and then irradiated with far-ultraviolet light (UV), protease inhibitors capable of specifically inhibiting the activity were investigated.
