The mutagenicity and recombinogenicity of the atmospheric pollutant, ozone, were investigated in several strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It was observed that ozone induced a variety of genetic events, such as forward and reverse mutations as well as gene conversion and mitotic crossing-over.
