Polyploid giant cancer cells (PGCCs) are a subpopulation of tumor cells known for driving tumor recurrence, metastasis, and therapeutic resistance. PGCCs arise mainly in response to cellular stress induced by cancer therapies and adverse microenvironmental conditions.
