Aspergillus fumigatus is the leading cause of invasive mold infections in immunocompromised patients. Current antifungal treatment primarily depends on the triazole antifungals, which act by inhibiting Erg11/Cyp51, a key enzyme in the ergosterol biosynthetic pathway.
