Pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (PitNETs) are generally benign; however, functional subtypes cause hormone hypersecretion, leading to systemic complications. In somatotroph PitNETs, growth hormone (GH) excess increases mortality and necessitates complete tumor resection to achieve endocrinological remission.
