INTRODUCTION: Thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF-1) expression, routinely assessed through immunohistochemistry in the diagnostic evaluation of lung adenocarcinomas (LUADs), is negative (TTF-1Neg) in approximately 15% to 20% of cases.
