BACKGROUND: The life expectancy of patients with diffuse IDH-mutant low-grade gliomas (IDHmt LGG) ranges from 5 to over 20 years. Tumor behavior, including spontaneous growth rate, varies even within homogeneously classified subtypes of oligodendroglioma and astrocytoma.
