Background High altitude polycythemia (HAPC) is a disease with high morbidity and great harm in high altitude populations. It has been shown that Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) correlate with the genetic basis of adaptation to plateau hypoxia in Tibetan populations.
