BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Aberrant hypermethylation in the promoter regions of tumor suppressor genes facilitates the pathogenesis and progression of cancer. Therefore, inhibitors targeting DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) have been tested in clinical studies. However, the current monotherapy of DNMT inhibitors shows limited efficacy.
