The regulation of autoimmunity against pancreatic islet β cells for type 1 diabetes (T1D) onset is still unclear. NOD/ShiLtJ (NOD) mice are prone to the onset of autoimmune diabetes, but its congenic strain, ALR/Lt (ALR), is not.
