Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) in adults may be idiopathic or secondary to various conditions. Recent studies identified germline hepatitis A virus-cellular receptor 2 (HAVCR2) mutations in subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma (SPTCL) with HLH.
