Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen whose virulence is dependent on quorum sensing (QS). DksA1, an RNA polymerase-binding transcriptional regulator, plays a role in determining a number of phenotypes, including QS-mediated virulence.
