Tumour-induced osteomalacia (TIO) is a very rare paraneoplastic syndrome with bone pain, fractures and muscle weakness, which is mostly caused by phosphaturic mesenchymal tumours (PMTs). Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) has been regarded as a non-invasive liquid biopsy for many malignant tumours.
