PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Determine if therapy of chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) is a model for treating other cancers. RECENT FINDINGS: CML has a relatively homogeneous phenotype and genotype and is caused by one mutation, BCRABL1, in every instance.
