We studied a dominant mutant of the Neurospora crassa calcineurin catalytic (cna-1) subunit generated using the repeat-induced point mutation (RIP). The Cna-1RIP mutants showed defects in morphology, aerial hyphae development, carotenoid accumulation, and fertility.
