A search for novel resistance-determining mutations was conducted using a heuristic algorithm. The sensitivity of existing knowledge for predicting resistance in clarithromycin was 95% (95% confidence interval [CI], 89 to 98%), and the specificity was 66% (95% CI, 54 to 76%)....
