Temozolomide may cause thrombocytopenia or neutropenia in 3-4% of glioblastoma patients, respectively. However, pancytopenia is rarely reported. MGMT (O6-methylguanine-DNA-methyltransferase) enzyme repairs temozolomide-induced DNA mutations and associates both with antitumour efficacy and myelosuppression.
