The genetic causes for familial nonmedullary thyroid cancer (FNMTC) remain largely unknown. Through genetic linkage analysis and exome sequencing, C14orf93 (RTFC), PYGL, and BMP4 were identified as susceptibility gene candidates in a FNMTC family.
