Murine gammaherpesvirus (MHV) 68, a natural pathogen of field mice, is related to human gammaherpesviruses, Epstein–Barr virus (EBV; human herpesvirus 4) and Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV; human herpesvirus 8).
