OBJECTIVE: Eighty percent of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDAs) overexpress mucin 1 (MUC1), a transmembrane mucin glycoprotein. MUC1(high) PDA patients also express high levels of cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) and show poor prognosis.
