Bazedoxifene is used for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. After peroral application, bazedoxifene is metabolized by UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs) to bazedoxifene-4'-glucuronide (M4) and bazedoxifene-5-glucuronide (M5).
