BACKGROUND: Information on the genetic events leading to thyroid cancer in dogs is lacking. HYPOTHESIS/OBJECTIVES: Upregulation of the PI3K/Akt pathway has an important role in the tumorigenesis of thyroid carcinoma in dogs.
