Several GTPases are required for ribosome biogenesis and assembly. We recently identified rice (Oryza sativa) nuclear/nucleolar GTPase 2 (OsNug2), a YlqF/YawG family GTPase, as having a role in pre-60S ribosomal subunit maturation.
