Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common age related human neurodegenerative disorder. The major histopathological characteristics of the AD brain are extracellular amyloid-beta (Aβ) peptide loaded plaques and intraneuronal neurofibrillary tangles made of phosphorylated tau proteins.
