The CD34+/CD38- immunophenotype is used to identify candidate hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and leukemia-initiating cells (LICs). However, the clinical significance of the CD34+/CD38-proportion in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is not well established.
