PURPOSE: Survival of patients with uveal melanoma (UM) correlates strongly with chromosomal abnormalities, such as monosomy 3 and polysomy 8q. Studies have shown multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) to detect reliably chromosomal aberrations in UM using frozen samples.
