Polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET) and primary myelofibrosis (PMF) are Philadelphia chromosome-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) characterized by JAK2 mutation. The exon 14 V617F mutation is present in almost all patients with PV and in approx. 60% of patients with ET and PMF.
