Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) plays an essential role in glycolysis by catalyzing the conversion of D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate (D-G3P) to 1,3-diphosphoglycerate using NAD(+) as a cofactor.
