BACKGROUND: The nuclear factor-κB pathway is an important signaling pathway activated in multiple myeloma cells. Bortezomib inhibits nuclear factor-κB activation and is an important antimyeloma agent. Nevertheless, patients treated with this drug eventually relapse.
