A bioinformatic screening of the genome of the thermophilic bacterium Fervidobacterium nodosum Rt17-B1 for esterhydrolyzing enzymes revealed a putative bacterial esterase (FNE) encoded by Fond_1301 with typical GDSL family motifs.
