Receptor activator of nuclear factor kappaB (RANK) is one of the proteins in regulation of osteoclastogenesis via RANK/RANKL/OPG. Gene that codes for RANK protein (TNFRSF11A) was associated with osteoporotic fractures in a recent genome-wide association study.
