MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are 20-24 nucleotide endogenous regulatory molecules conserved in higher eukaryotes. In Arabidopsis, miRNAs are produced through step-wise cleavages of primary miRNA precursors (pri-miRNAs) by DICER-LIKE1 (DCL1).
